What’s it Like to Sail as a Rockstar with Virgin Voyages?

In addition to Virgin’s generous inclusions for all Sailors (dining at 20+ eateries, basic beverages — soda, water, non-pressed juices, and drip coffee, basic wifi, group fitness classes, and tips), sailing as a Rockstar means even more will be included in your experience.

Early Booking Window

Rockstars will be able to book dining reservations and shore excursions before any other Sailors. Shore Things will be open for booking at 120-days out and dinner reservations will be available at 60-days before your cruise. This is especially helpful for scooping up the dinner reservations you want at specific times. (I have another blog with recommendations on how to structure your dinner reservations here.)

Rockstar VIP Embarkation Lounge

VIP Embarkation

From the moment you pull up at Terminal V, you’ll see signage for the Rockstar luggage drop off, as well as a special VIP entrance to the far right, called Palm Way. Once checked in, Rockstars head upstairs to a suite-only lounge with some basic refreshments and plush seating. Several Rockstar Agents will be there to meet and greet their Sailors and to answer any initial questions they may have. Rockstars will be the first to board the ship, typically between 1:45 and 2pm. Unlike many other cruise lines, Virgin ensures all cabins are ready when Sailors step onboard. Once you’re on the ship, you’re invited to stop by The Manor (sometimes the venue will shift to other meetup places like SIP Lounge) to meet your dedicated Agent and request help with reservations and anything else you may need.

Rockstar Agent

You’ll probably make lots of new friends onboard but your favorite one will be your Rockstar Agent. This person will be your go-to for help adjusting reservations, swaps to your in-room bar, etc. You can even text them through the app, which is a feature I loved!

Curated In-Room Bar

Your Rockstar Suite will have a bar setup including about six bottles of liquor (ours came with Tito’s, Buffalo Trace, Johnnie Walker Black Label, Bacardi, Bombay Sapphire, and Teremana) and a few mixers, several bottles of wine, a bottle of Moet, and a few cans of beer. You can work with your Rockstar agent to swap what you have to best fit your preferences. Feel free to take home what you don’t drink, as it’s included in your cruise fare. Your bar will also have all of the accessories you’ll need to mix up a drink in your room, including a drawer full of different glasses - highball, rocks, martini, coupe, champagne and wine glasses.

Richard’s Rooftop

This “members only” area is the perfect spot to relax on a daybed and get some sun, kick back in one of the two hot tubs, or grab some free champagne during the daily happy hour (usually 5-6pm). You’ll scan your wearable to enter, and you’re welcome to pop up for a quick drink or spend the day. The crew is extremely attentive, and it’s typically never crowded. If you’re hungry, check out their lite bites menu for some fun offerings, some of which are only served at Richard’s Rooftop.

No matter how you decide to sail with Virgin, you’ll receive excellent service and a fantastic cruise experience. Sailing as a Rockstar will add some extra special perks, that may make it hard ever to sail another way though!

Reach out here for the most lucrative offer available: $300 off the cruise fare and $600 in Sailor Loot onboard credit on Sea Terrace cabins and above (Lock It In rate and Limited View excluded). This deal must be booked directly with Curated by Laura Poe, so reach out before this offer sails away!
